DR Congo police arrest Kabamba, leader of Mai-Mai militia

Police in the Democratic Republic of Congo have arrested the leader of the Mai-Mai militia, Kambale Kabamba.

The arrest took place in Kyona, Pakanza district in the city of Oicha (Beni territory), North Kivu province.

Police had pursued him over involvement in insecurity cases in the area.

He will be handed over to the military tribunal to be held accountable for his actions.

There are several militia groups in DR Congo’s North Kivu province.
